About the Conference

The Valve World Middle East Conference 2017 will be held Monday through Tuesday, February 20-21, 2017 at the IRIB International Conference Centre, in Tehran, Iran. Co-organized by Valve World and the Godakhtar Group, and sponsored by FluoroSeal Specialty Valves, IMI Critical Engineering, Metso, and Rotork, and supported by the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture (TCCIM).

The conference will be put together by an International Steering Committee and an Advisory Board whose members will come from Iran, Europe, and Canada. The theme of the event is “The valve industry moving to a better future in Iran” and will concentrate exclusively on the Iranian oil & gas industries. The conference will be simultaneously translated into English and Farsi.

Goals

  • To provide a platform for those seeking to update their knowledge base with regard to latest developments, technologies, and trends in valves for the oil & gas industries.
  • To provide a relaxed, social networking atmosphere in which delegates can not only get advice and solutions to the challenges that they face in their everyday working lives, but also look into the possibility of developing new business and business partnerships.

Delegates

Delegates to the conference will come from Iran, Europe, the Middle East, Far East, and Canada. The two-day event will bring together Iranians from the middle-to-higher echelons of decision-making management of independently owned/state owned end-user companies in the oil & gas industries, design and maintenance engineers, engineers from EPCs, procurement officials, distributors and agents, universi¬ty research bodies, those looking for new techniques and innovations with regards to valves and their associated products to improve their company’s production performance, and those looking for new business opportunities, with manufacturers and suppliers, distributors, traders, EPCs, maintenance companies, testing, inspecting, and certification organizations, as well as investors and bankers.

Conference Program

The conference program has been split into several main themes. There will be plenary lectures, which look at the current state of the Iranian Oil & Gas industries – the challenges these industries face and their need and interest in new technological developments; new business prospects throughout the Middle East region as a whole; how best to go about doing business in Iran – what are the prospects and possibilities for investment; and what are latest developments in valves and associated products for the oil & gas industries.

Topics of the various sessions and workshops will cover in alphabetical order: Coatings & claddings; Control valves; Maintenance & trouble shooting; Materials, casting & forgings; Middle East market research possibilities; Severe service and sealing; Technology transfer potential between companies inside and outside Iran; Valve actuators & networks; Safety valves, and Standards & requirements. Throughout the program there will be plenty of time in which to network and do business in a socially attractive environment.

Company Visit to Iranian Oil/Gas Project

At the moment we are also looking into the possibility of adding a third day to the conference so that delegates can visit a major oil/gas project in Iran where not only will they be given a tour of what is happening on site, they will also be able to meet up and discuss the projects with end-user procurement managers and decision makers.
