AMPO POYAM’s axial check valves at Indian refinery

End user, HMEL, acting as EPC, has availed the services of AMPO POYAM VALVES for the design and manufacture of diverse axial check valves, which will be shortly installed at GURU GOBIND SINGH, the fifth biggest refinery in India. This facility has contributed to increase refining capacity of India from 62 to 213 MT.
These axial check valves will be for hydrogen service and their most important function will be to protect the rotating equipment, avoiding back-flow and preventing water hammer.
All these valves will be operating in high temperature services, between326oC and 423oC. The Engineering team of AMPO has worked hard to develop a technological solution where a minimum pressure drop is achieved on the valves.
HMEL and AMPO had previously collaborated on other projects with successful results. With this new reference AMPO POYAM VALVES increases its presence in India and also in refining applications.
