Engie & MoEI partner on clean energy in UAE

The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and Engie Solutions will technically cooperate in generating clean energy projects on MoEI's assets and explore other energy-related CSR initiatives.For this a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Eng Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum affairs, and Vincent Montanet, Chief Business Development Officer for Engie Solutions GCC, at the RAK Energy Summit.Organised by Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, the summit featured industry-level speakers from the energy sector to discuss the challenges and opportunities in dealing with climate change and the future of the energy sector.Both parties recognise the importance of increasing the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix while inspiring innovations in the sector.

Taha wins key processing units deal from India

Bahrain-based Taha International Industrial Services, a major company working for the elimination of waste from the aluminium industry, said it has been signed up by Indian refining company Runaya for the supply of two additional hot dross processing units.These units are based on a patent that was developed by Bahraini and foreign experts at Taha International in Bahrain and is currently being employed by a rising number of aluminum smelters worldwide, said the company in a statement.The hot dross processing technology has the ability to change how companies handle their dross, thus making the process environmentally friendly and, most importantly, zero-waste.

Balaji Amines commissions two new plants

India’s Balaji Amines has commissioned two new plants as part of the first phase of its new greenfield chemicals project at Solapur in western Maharashtra state, the company said in a statement.

Asia to lead global ammonia capacity additions

Asia is expected to lead the global ammonia industry capacity growth from new-build and expansion projects by 2030 with a share of 20%, according to GlobalData, a data and analytics company.GlobalData’s report, ‘Ammonia Market Capacity and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Market Forecast by Region, Top Countries and Companies, Feedstock, Key Planned and Announced Projects, 2022-2030’, reveals that the total ammonia capacity of new-build and expansion projects in Asia is expected to be 9.93 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) by 2030.

Petrofac, Oman Hydrogen Centre collaborate on green H2

Petrofac, a provider of services to the global energy industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Oman Hydrogen Centre (OHC) to collaborate in building capabilities for Oman’s renewable energy sector, particularly in green hydrogen.Located at the German University of Technology (GUtech), OHC is the first research facility of its kind in the Sultanate, supporting the country in accelerating its transition to renewable energy.

Ma’aden to raise phosphate, ammonia exports to India
