Chemplast Sanmar plans to spend Rs 680 crore in refurbishing its custom manufactured chemicals (CMC) division. The expansion will be carried out in the next 15 months. This was announced along with the quarterly results October-December, 2022.
Chemplast Sanmar envisages expanding its 1,068 tonne per annum plant at Berigai, near Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The facility produces cyanation, hydrogenation, and liquid purification.
Further, the move will fuel the company’s thrust towards ‘custom manufacturing’ wherein it will produce as per its customer’s requirements arising in the agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals segments. The company has already secured a couple of contracts from its customers.
Chemplast Sanmar’s flagship product is PVC resin, which accounts for 60% of its sales.
