Delphi-TVS fuels Rs 450-cr expansion plan

Delphi-TVS Technologies will be investing Rs 400-450 crore towards the expansion of production capacity at its Oragadam plant in Tamil Nadu to manufacture nearly one million Common Rail systems over the next three years.

The targeted scaling-up from the current six lakh sets per annum to nearly one million will be implemented through a planned infusion of Rs 150 crore every year for the next three years. The cost requirements will be met through internal accruals and borrowings.

The supplier of automotive and diesel fuel injection systems announced the production of the three millionth CR system, on 11 April 2023.

Going forward, Delphi-TVS will focus on making CR systems for tractors and commercial vehicles, which will be in compliance with the next round of tractor emission norms ‘TREM V’.

The company, which supplies to auto majors such as Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, and Hyundai, and exports to European and Korean markets concluded FY23 with a 20% growth over the earlier period.
