EQUATE, Planning Council & KIU discuss value park

EQUATE Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first international joint-venture in this industry, discussed with the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning & Development (SCPD) and Kuwait Industries Union (KIU) the Company’s initiative to establish Kuwait Petrochemical Added Value Park.
The meeting included SCPD Secretary-General Dr. Khaled Mahdi, EQUATE President & CEO Mohammad Husain, VP Technical Services Tareq Jafar Al-Kandari, PE Business Director Ahmad Al-Saleh, as well as KIU General-Manager Huda Al-Baqshi and Deputy GM Sulaiman Al-Rodhan.
Mahdi said, “EQUATE has proposed the park and it is willing to manage the project and participate in establishing it. This meeting with Secretariat General of the SCPD is based on its role in devising the national development plan, including initiatives proposed by the private sector. This park is an example of the vision by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait to transform Kuwait into a global financial and economic hub and developing an investment-friendly environment that is headed by the private sector.”
Al-Kharafi noted that KIU has adopted this initiative since it was proposed to the industrial forum’s advisory committee, adding that the union has organized meetings to discuss the project with government bodies, including the SCPD. Husain emphasized the significance of various partnerships between government bodies and private organizations to ensure integration for industrial initiatives, adding that achieving such objectives is by diversifying income sources and supporting Kuwait’s industrial leadership by having an integrated park to nurture sustainable industrial ideas and initiatives.
