HCC wins EPC contract for Jammu & Kashmir

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has recently been awarded two contracts worth Rs. 623 crore in the hydro power and tunnelling sectors. The valve of first order is Rs.456 crore, while that of second is Rs.167 crore. 
The first order from the Tangsibji Hydro Energy Ltd of Bhutan is for constructing 118MW Nikachhu Hydropower Project in Trongsa district of Bhutan. This is an EPC contract and the project is to be completed in 48 months. 
The second order from the JKSPDC is for constructing a double lane tunnel of approx. 1500m length which shall be the access road to 1856 MW Sawalkote Hydroelectric Power Project in Jammu & Kashmir. This is also an EPC contract involving investigation, design and construction of the tunnel. The project is to be completed in 30 months.
