Hyundai E&C awarded contract to build gas treatment

Hyundai E&C has recently received $736 million order as a single contractor to build the Uthmaniyah gas treatment facility from Saudi Aramco, a Saudi Arabian national petroleum and natural gas company.

The Uthmaniyah gas plant project is designed to utilize the demethanizer system to separate and collect natural gas liquids such as ethane and propane from 1,400 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas produced in the Uthmaniyah region which is approximately 325 kilometers away from the country’s capital Riyadh.

The project will take 37 months and is slated to be completed at the end of 2019 Hyundai E&C is considering this Uthmaniyah project as being a catalyst for winning more bids in the Middle East area where low oil prices slow new construction projects.
