JERA signs an MOU with Dubai Supply Authority for LNG

JERA Co., Inc., has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP) concerning cooperation in the LNG business. Under this MOU, JERA and DUSUP will discuss opportunities for mutual collaboration in the LNG business. Specific areas for discussion include joint procurement of LNG and opportunities for cooperation relating to LNG shipping and storage capacity.
The Emirate of Dubai is a major business hub in the Middle East with further economic growth expected in the build up to hosting EXPO 2020 in Dubai. DUSUP has supported this economic growth by procuring natural gas through national and international pipelines and through the development of an FSRU LNG import facility in Jebel Ali. JERA believes that strengthening its relationship with DUSUP will contribute to expanding business opportunities for both companies.
JERA will continue to work together with LNG industry counterparts both within and outside Japan as it seeks to achieve even more competitive procurement in an LNG market undergoing great change.
