L&T wins 3 major contracts worth INR 2161 Cr

The construction arm of L&T has recently won orders worth INR 2161Cr across various business segments. The Transport & Infrastructure Business has won a major design & build order worth INR 847Cr from Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL). The order involves electrification works for 417 km section of the Eastern DFC (Dedicated Freight Corridor) from Mughalsarai to New Bhaupur in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The scope of works includes construction of 7 Traction Sub Stations (TSS), 18 Switching Stations (SWS), 881 track km of Overhead Equipment (OHE), SCADA and electrical and mechanical works along with supply of all associated equipment. The project is planned to be executed using mechanized means of overhead equipment installation using the latest technology in railway construction. This would be a one-of-its-kind energy efficient system to be implemented in India’s rail sector.

The Water & Effluent Treatment Business has won EPC orders worth INR 709Cr. An order has been bagged from Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited, the scope of which involves design and construction of approximately 146 km of mild steel pipelines and 26 km of ductile iron pipelines.

The Power Transmission & Distribution Business has won EPC orders worth INR 403Cr. An order has been received from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for the construction of a 400 kV double circuit transmission line package from Tumkur to Hiryur in Karnataka.

The Metallurgical and Material Handling Business has won additional orders worth INR 202Cr have been received from various ongoing jobs of this business.
