SWCC secures Sepco to complete Yanbu (Phase III)

Saudi Arabia’s Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has secured Sepco III Electric Power and Construction Corp. of China to complete Phase III of Yanbu power and water project.
Work on the project has been halted in January, when SWCC and engineers, Samsung Engineering, fell out over project changes. Construction work is about 60% done; when complete, the power and water complexes will have a capacity to produce 2,500 MW and 550,000 m3/d of potable water. GE Water is the technology provider.
