Inox Air Products has been awarded a contract by Tata Steel for setting up 2 air separation units (ASUs) at Tata Steel’s Meramandali Plant, located in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha. Each of the two ASUs will have the capacity to produce 1800 tons of oxygen per day, besides nitrogen and argon. The ASUs will also have a provision to generate rare gases. The ASUs will be commissioned with an investment of around Rs 1300 crore. Its first-ever collaboration with Tata Steel would coincide with an ongoing steel capacity expansion for the renowned steel major.
Siddharth Jain, MD, Inox Air Products, said, “Our first-ever onsite partnership with Tata Steel also marks our largest ever greenfield investment and also the facility with the largest liquid gases manufacturing capacity at a single location of more than 600tpd.”
