Iran and Syria signed a comprehensive plan for strategic and long-term cooperation and 14 other documents, including oil and energy agreements, in Damascus.
Iran’s President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi and his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad signed the comprehensive plan.
The 14 cooperation documents were related to several sectors, namely trade, oil and energy, technical and engineering, housing, rail and air transportation, free trade zones and private sector, communications and information technology, earthquake and rescue operations, and pilgrimage affairs.
Raeisi arrived in Damascus recently, the first state visit by an Iranian president to Syria in 13 years, to hold talks on bilateral relations and international developments during his two-day stay.
Ministers of oil, foreign affairs, defense, roads and urban development, and economy are some of the top officials accompanying the president.
