Vishwaraj Sugar to infuse Rs 400 cr in expansion

Vishwaraj Sugar Industries is planning to set up a greenfield sugar factory and expand its existing distillery facility at Belgaum in Karnataka with an investment of Rs 400 crore. The company will be setting up Rs 250 crore greenfield sugar plant along with a distillery of 100 klpd, exclusively for producing ethanol. It will invest another Rs 150 crore to expand the existing distillery capacity by 150 klpd.
The projects will be funded through both equity and debt. The expanded facilities are expected to operate at full capacity over the next couple of years. The company manufactures distillery products such as rectified spirit, anhydrous ethanol from molasses, and sugar syrup.
